Parrying the Teep / Push Kick

Parrying the teep (thip) / push kick - the teep will be aimed at our midsection (unless it’s aimed at our face, in which case you don’t want to use this parry!)

Using your front foot as an anchor, push your belly button and midsection back a bit without stepping either of your feet — this will remove your opponent’s target by a few inches, lessening the impact in case our hands are too slow to knock the attack away.

At the same time, bring your glove off of your jaw and swing it over your body the way a windshield wiper sweeps over a car windshield.

Executing this technique properly and with the opposite hand (right foot-right hand, left foot-left hand) will turn your opponent and place you in a very advantageous position. You can follow this parry up with any number of attacks and combinations while your opponent is turned and off-balance.
